The Path From No Experience to Home Daily

If you’re starting without a CDL or without trucking experience, here’s how drivers build toward a local fleet at Roehl:

• Get your CDL through Roehl’s Get Your CDL™ program. If you qualify, you’re hired as a full-time employee on day one, earning a paycheck while you train. Three weeks at a Roehl terminal. You test for your CDL in the final week.
• Build your foundation in Phases 2 and 3. After earning your CDL from Roehl’s on-the-job training program or from a local truck driving school, you’ll spend at least 19 days on the road with a certified Roehl Driver Trainer, before you get your own truck and begin operating on your own.
• Get into an open home daily driving position directly. Some Roehl home daily positions are open to Get Your CDL and recent truck driving school graduates — primarily in Wisconsin and Indiana. Talk to a Roehl Driver Employment Center teammate about positions that may fit your situation.
• Use a home weekly fleet as a bridge. Depending on where you live, you may be eligible for a home weekly truck driving job. For example, Roehl has regional fleets in the Midwest, Northeast and Southeast — all of those fleets offer 48 hours of weekly home time. In some other areas, Roehl has HOMEtime PLUS™ Fleets, including 7/7 fleets that will get you home a full week for every week you drive — about 26 weeks of home time per year. While these are not home daily fleets, they might be able to bridge the gap between over-the-road national fleets and local truck driving jobs.

Georgia — Local and Home Daily CDL-A Truck Driving Jobs

Roehl has a van, home daily metro fleet based in Georgia (based out of the Conley terminal in the Atlanta area). Drivers run within approximately 250 miles of the terminal, handling 3–4 loads per day with routes covering Georgia, Alabama, and South Carolina. Hiring is open to drivers living in the Atlanta, Georgia metro area.

Illinois — Local and Home Daily CDL-A Truck Driving Jobs

Roehl has local and home daily positions for Illinois residents. Two are based in the Rockford area — a van fleet and a Dairyland refrigerated position. Three additional positions serve the Chicago and northern Illinois area out of the Gary, Indiana terminal, and are open to drivers in both Illinois and Indiana. One is based in Indianapolis with a 250-mile operating radius covering Indiana, Illinois, Ohio, Michigan, Kentucky, and Wisconsin. The other three are Chicago-area positions based at the Gary, IN terminal, also open to Illinois residents who live in the hiring area. Minnesota — Local and Home Daily CDL-A Truck Driving Jobs

Roehl has three home daily driving fleets that operate from Minnesota. All are based out of the St. Paul yard in the Twin Cities. One is a van fleet covering the upper Midwest from Minnesota to Wisconsin, Iowa, South Dakota, and North Dakota. Two are refrigerated positions hauling temperature-controlled freight — primarily cheese and frozen products — between Minnesota and Wisconsin dairy country.

North Carolina and South Carolina — Local and Home Daily CDL-A Truck Driving Jobs

Roehl has one home daily van fleet available to CDL-A drivers seeking a local position living in North Carolina and South Carolina. Based out of the Matthews, NC drop yard near Charlotte, this dry van fleet operates within approximately 250 miles of Charlotte, with routes covering North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia, and Georgia. The freight mix includes van relays, drop and hooks, and live loads and unloads.

Ohio — Local and Home Daily CDL-A Truck Driving Jobs

Covering four distinct areas of the state, Roehl has four local and home daily fleets for Ohio residents. In northwest Ohio, the Findlay Advantage Fleet offers a dedicated distribution route open to student drivers and recent graduates. In southwest Ohio, the Dayton fleet runs a structured Monday–Friday daytime schedule. Three fleets serve the Milwaukee area. Two are dedicated shuttle routes between Milwaukee and Beaver Dam — one based in each city, running 3–4 loads per day in each direction. A third van fleet position based out of Oak Creek has a hiring area from the greater Milwaukee area with a flexible operating territory covering Wisconsin and Illinois.

Appleton / Fox Valley Area

Two home daily positions serve the Fox Valley area based at the Appleton/Neenah terminal. The Van Dairyland fleet is open to GYCDL candidates and runs van freight on a regular schedule with a dedicated fleet manager. The Appleton Dairyland Refrigerated position hauls temperature-controlled freight — cheese and frozen products — between Minnesota and eastern Wisconsin.

Madison Area

The Madison Van Local Fleet is based at a DeForest, Wisconsin location north of Madison. This Van Dairyland position runs regular routes on a Dynamic Pay Plan and is open to Get Your CDL candidates. The operating area covers Wisconsin, Minnesota, Michigan, Iowa, Illinois, Indiana, and Ohio.

Wausau Area

Two positions serve the Wausau area. The Wausau Shuttle is a dedicated local run operating entirely within Wisconsin — home daily with most weekends off. The Wausau Dairyland Refrigerated position hauls cheese and frozen products to Minnesota and the Appleton area and is open to GYCDL candidates.

Marshfield and Central Wisconsin

Marshfield is Roehl’s home — and the company has its deepest local fleet presence here. Four positions are available to drivers in the Marshfield area and central Wisconsin corridor. The Utility Fleet offers hourly pay operating a wide variety of equipment including van, refrigerated, curtainside, dump trucks, and non-endorsement tankers.
