Over-the-Road (OTR) Truck Driving Jobs at Roehl Transport
OTR — over-the-road — is the long-haul backbone of trucking. Roehl's OTR fleets move freight across the continental U.S. and into Canada, with the flexible home time, modern equipment, and Dynamic Pay Plan that have made Roehl one of North America's most respected long-haul carriers for over 60 years.
If you want consistent miles, the highest mileage-based earning potential, with flexible home time, Roehl's OTR fleets are built for you.
Schedule
Roehl offers the widest range of OTR schedules in the industry — designed around the principle of A Life Outside the Truck™.
| Schedule | Pattern |
| Standard National Fleet | 11–14 days out, 3 days home |
| HOMEtime PLUS™ 14/7 | 14 days out, 7 days home |
| HOMEtime PLUS™ 7/7 | 7 days out, 7 days home — half-the-year cadence |
| HOMEtime PLUS™ rotational | Mixed schedules; up to 26 weeks home per year |
| Stack home time | Run longer and bank up to a week or more of consecutive home time |
You're not locked into a schedule. As your life changes, your fleet choice can change with you.
Lifestyle
OTR with Roehl means driving across a wide territory — most freight moves east of the I 35, with strong density in the Midwest and Eastern U.S. — using late-model tractors and assigned, well-maintained trailers.
- 95% no-touch freight. In our Van division, you're a driver, not a freight handler.
- Passenger Program. Bring spouse, child, parent, sibling, or friend on the road after 30 days.
- Pet Passport Program. Dogs and cats welcome for experienced drivers.
- Modern equipment. One of the newest fleets in the industry — most trucks are less than 2 years old.
- 24/7 support.Maintenance, dispatch, and driver services available around the clock.
- MyRoehl app. Trip planning, paperwork scanning, pay tracking, and direct fleet manager contact.
A typical OTR week with Roehl is 2,300–2,600 miles, with the freedom to stack home time when you want it and the stability of a 60+ year family-owned carrier behind you.
Expectations
- Experience: At least 4 months of recent CDL-A driving experience for most OTR fleets. Some fleets may require 6 months or a year. Recent CDL graduates and Roehl Get Your CDL trainees can qualify for paid on-the-job training pathways.

- Pay structure: Dynamic Pay Plan + address-to-address practical route mileage (5–8% more paid miles than HHG carriers).
- Average weekly earnings: Refrigerated National OTR averaging $1,250/week ($65,000/year); Flatbed National OTR averaging $1,310/week ($68,000/year). [CONFIRM]

Is OTR Right for You?
OTR is the right fit if you value:
- Consistent miles and the highest mileage-based earning potential
- Seeing the country and changing scenery
- Flexibility to stack home time when you want it
- Working with one of the safest, most established carriers in North America — a 5-time ATA President's Award winner
OTR may not be the best fit if you need to be home daily or weekly. In that case, consider Roehl's Regional jobs (home weekly) or Local/Home Daily jobs.
