Roehl is Built on Values
Safety isn't a slogan at Roehl - it's the company’s cornerstone value.
Roehl Transport is one of North America’s safest trucking companies as recognized by the American Trucking Associations (ATA). Roehl Transport is a 5-time recipient of the ATA’s President’s Award, the trucking industry’s highest safety honor.
Two more of Roehl’s values are Innovation and Delivering Success, and these values reflect more than a clean CSA score; they inform how we equip, train, and support drivers every day:
- Modern equipment. Late-model equipment, maintained by a 24/7 support team.
- Accident-Free Pay. In 2025, Roehl drivers earned $3.3 million in safety incentives. Safe driving is rewarded directly in your paycheck.
- Drivers have the final say on safety. At Roehl, drivers have the final say on whether it is safe to drive, and they have the entire company supporting their decisions.
Pay: Dynamic, Transparent, Built to Reward Performance
Most carriers still pay a flat cents-per-mile rate. Roehl built something better.
Dynamic Pay Plans
Roehl's Dynamic Pay Plan pays different CPM rates based on length of haul, performance, and efficiency — so drivers are compensated for the realities of the job, not just the odometer. Drivers earn more as they gain experience, drive more efficiently, and meet performance benchmarks.
Address-to-Address Practical Route Mileage
Roehl was one of the first major carriers to adopt practical route mileage, and it now goes a step further with address-to-address calculations. That means you're paid from the pick-up address to the destination address — not city center to city center. The difference adds up to 5–8% more paid miles than HHG-based carriers.
What Roehl Drivers Actually Earn
As of May 2026, Roehl drivers with at least one year on the job are averaging $1,360 a week (over $70,000 a year). It's also important to know that the top 50% of Roehl drivers average $1,540 per week (nearly $80k a year).
Many factors impact a driver's earnings - things like the type of trailer being pulled and how frequently a driver is home. Other thing impacting a driver's wages include living in our Primary Commercial Zone (where we have the most customers and freight) and being a driver trainer, where you can earn more by helping recent CDL school graduates or drivers who got CDL training with Roehl start their careers.
In some fleets, Roehl has company drivers who make over $100,000 a year.
Pay Extras Most Carriers Don't Offer
- Accident-Free Pay (safety bonus)
- Full per diem reimbursement to reduce taxable income
- $1,500 driver referral bonus, with no limit on referrals
- Quarterly performance bonuses on many fleets
- Profit-sharing — among the top contributions of any U.S. trucking company
Home Time: A Life Outside the Truck
Roehl's home time philosophy has a name: A Life Outside the Truck (LOT). The point is simple — your career should fit your life, not the other way around.
Home Time Options
- National Fleet: 11–14 days out, 3 days home
- HOMEtime PLUS Fleets: 14 out / 7 home, 7 out / 7 home, or rotational schedules - up to 26 weeks off per year
- Regional Fleets: Home weekly for 48 hours, with a defined operating area
- Dedicated Fleets: Predictable lanes, often with weekly home time
- Local Fleets: Home daily in select areas
More than half of all Roehl drivers are home weekly.
Passenger & Pet Programs
After 30 days of employment, experienced drivers can bring a passenger on the road. Children must be at least 10 years old, and a small rider insurance fee applies. Pets are welcome too — because home isn't always a place, sometimes it's who's with you.
Long-Term Opportunity: Start. Drive. Grow. Thrive.
Roehl is built for drivers who want a career, not just a job. That's the meaning behind the company's driver promise: Start. Drive. Grow. Thrive.
- Start — with paid CDL training through the Get Your CDL program, or step in as an experienced driver
- Drive — across a choice of divisions: dry van, flatbed, refrigerated, curtainside, dedicated, and specialized
- Grow — into driver trainer, mentor, fleet manager, instructor, or owner-operator roles
- Thrive — with the pay, home time, support, and stability of a 60+ year family-owned carrier
Many Roehl drivers have built decade-long careers here — including drivers with 40+ years and 6+ million safe driving miles.
