Job Overview

Earn a competitive wage, be home nightly and help train new truck drivers as an Orientation and Driver Development Instructor.

As an Orientation and Driver Development Instructor you make a difference by training new employees in our innovative Get Your CDL (GYCDL) Program. Individuals who are hired into our GYCDL Program are new to the transportation industry. You work with these students through various stages of training for 30 days. Your objective is to provide them the practical and tactical knowledge they need to pass their CDL exam and become safe and productive members of TeamRoehl.

As an instructor and teacher it is critical that you are able to effectively empathize, be a solid communicator, a first rate listener, and possess a high level of self-awareness. You create Driver Success by helping our new hires learn the Roehl Way of Protective Driving so that they can be safe and productive members of the team.

How much will I make?
You will receive a competitive hourly wage, variable compensation bonus, medical, dental, 401k, profit sharing, and paid time off! This role also offers a relocation package for the right candidate. We even offer 100% tuition reimbursement if you want to further advance your education!

When will I be home?
This is like a local trucking job. You'll be home nightly.

Yes. We'll provide the training you need. Eligibility

  • Class A drivers with at least four months of recent driving experience. Some fleets may require 6 months or even a year of experience to join.

About Roehl's Pay Plans

Roehl offers two main pay plans. Both plans are performance-based. The Performance Bonus Pay Plan is for drivers who want a consistent pay rate with the potential for quarterly bonuses. Drivers earn a cents-per-mile with tenure-based raises and they are also eligible for performance-based bonuses using a scoring system called Your Choice Performance Points. In the Performance Bonus Plan, drivers do not have a risk of getting a lower cpm. The Premium Mileage Pay Plan allows experienced drivers the opportunity to earn a quarterly raise based on their performance and productivity. Using the same Your Choice Performance Points system, drivers earn points for miles driven plus consistent on-time deliveries, fuel economy, no cargo claims, safe operations, etc. Those points are totaled each quarter, and if a driver performs at a higher level than the performance level they were at, they move up and get a pay increase.
