Roehl's Anthony Nelson is a Semi-Finalist in the Transition Trucking: Driving for Excellence Award

Congratulations to Roehl Transport truck driver Anthony Nelson for being named a semi-finalist in the Transition Trucking: Driving for Excellence Award!  

Anthony served 20 years in the US Air Force, and he joined Roehl in January 2022. Anthony got paid while he got his CDL through Roehl, and he’s now a National Fleet driver in our Flatbed Division where he’s driven more than 130,000 miles accident free. 

Anthony shared, “The military taught me so many valuable lessons that I believe have directly impacted how I navigate the civilian world. The biggest lesson is how to L.E.A.D. as a leader even when I am not in a position of authority." 

Roehl’s Flatbed & Specialized Group President, Kimberly Maes, noted that Anthony lives Roehl's values in his personal and professional life. "Anthony is living those values by driving the Roehl Way to Protect Others, making on‐time deliveries for our customers and by being a leader himself," she said. 

Anthony is in our Honor Program and is also completing our Apprenticeship Program. 

Transition Trucking is presented by the U.S Chamber of Commerce Foundation's Hiring Our Heroes Program (HOH), Kenworth, and FASTPORT. It's a national competition for America’s top military rookie driver. The winning driver is selected after a year-long competition among veterans, guard members and reservists who have made the successful transition in the trucking industry following military service.
