Roehl nominates three driving teammates for the Transition Trucking: Driving for Excellence Award

We're proud to nominate three driving teammates for the Transition Trucking: Driving for Excellence Award. Congratulations and good luck to Dave R., Jon H. and Will G. Thank you for your service to our county and to TeamRoehl!

Charles “Dave” R. is a proud American, U.S. Army Veteran, father to a beautiful daughter and provider. He loves being near or on the ocean as it brings peace to his soul. He totally enjoys spending quality time with family and, of course, his favorite food? Seafood!! Dave is a driving teammate in our National Van Fleet.

Jon H. joined the Marines in 2007 at the age of 19. He was stationed on Camp Pendleton in California and was deployed in OIF (Operation Iraqi Freedom) and OEF (Operation Enduring Freedom) between 2008 and 2011 to Iraq and Afghanistan. After exiting the service, Jon earned his associates degree in small business management and ran a truck repair business for five years before transitioning into a career as a truck driver. Jon is a driving teammate in our Refrigerated Midwest Fleet.

Will G. was born in Houston, Texas to parents who migrated from El Salvador to the United States. He joined the Army at 19 years old, served a tour to Iraq in 2009‐2010, and was honorably discharged in 2013. He joined TeamRoehl in 2020 and is now a driving teammate in our Flatbed National Fleet.

The prestigious Transition Trucking: Driving to Excellence Award, presented by the U.S Chamber of Commerce Foundation's Hiring Our Heroes Program (HOH), Kenworth, and FASTPORT is a national competition for America’s top military rookie driver. The winner will be selected following a year-long competition among veterans, guard members and reservists who have made the successful transition in the trucking industry following military service.
