Job Overview

Be home weekly in this van dedicated CDL-A truck driving job.
Get 5 cents more per mile

**** Recent Update! 5 cents per mile sign-on pay for Experienced Drivers! ****

This dedicated truck driving job offers no-touch freight (you're not loading or unloading).

Drivers tend to stay on this fleet saying that work, home time and pay are like "clockwork".

Your loads will mostly be pre-planned. That means you do not have a lot of waiting at the docks.

The main reasons so many Roehl drivers like this fleet (and stay on it a long time) is that the miles are consistent, the freight is really driver-friendly and the drivers keep moving with proactive fleet managers and pre-planned loads.

When will I get home?

  • Weekly home time
  • 34 to 48 hours including part of a weekend!
  • Your workweek is about 5.5 days in length

Where will I drive?

  • Primary operating lanes for this truck driving job are mainly through Illinois, Wisconsin, Minnesota, Indiana and Ohio. You may also operate in Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, Missouri and Nebraska.

What will I haul?

  • Mostly no-touch van freight (paper and related products) for an established customer and other freight.
This fleet is known as our Dedicated Elwood Paper fleet. The fleet is based in the Chicago area, and there are openings for drivers in a few other areas as well.

You can join as an experienced driver, or, if you are a student/new-to-trucking driver, we will pay you for CDL training to develop your driving career.

Address-to-Address Mileage Calculations

Once again, Roehl leads the trucking industry in mileage pay calculations with address-to-address mileage calculations. Address to address practical route miles have the advantages of using the practical route and the actual starting and ending address for a load. As a result, these mileage calculations more accurately reflect the miles Roehl drivers have driven on each load.

Career Opportunities

Roehl offers career paths for all levels of truck driving experience. Whether you want to change your division or fleet or work outside of a truck in a non-driving job, our size means options for you to find the career opportunity that works for you. For example, many van and refrigerated truck drivers decide to use our additional paid training to become flatbed drivers. Others choose our curtainside fleets that offer a mix of flatbed and dry van work. Other truck drivers find that our HOMEtime PLUS fleets, which offer the industry's best mix of home time and regular driving schedules, meet their needs. And, we have dedicated fleets that offer many unique schedule, pay and freight options as well as local truck driving jobs in some areas. Want to become a trucking company owner? We have a lease purchase option in our Owner Operator Program. You can also become a Certified Driver Trainer or an instructor. As you can see, your career path with Roehl is filled with options!

Benefits

From top pay and home time to a comprehensive benefits package, our truck driving jobs provide you and your family security and peace of mind. Our exceptional benefits are both affordable and comprehensive, and in addition to health, dental, vision and life insurances, they include things that add to your truck driving income like getting practical route miles, paid vacation and referral bonuses. Plus, we help you retire in style because we offer a 401k plan and profit sharing. Finally, our benefits include intangibles that set us apart from other trucking companies. Our passenger (rider) policy means you can bring someone with you, and our truck driving jobs are pet friendly . And technologies, like our MyRoehl smartphone app, new equipment and outstanding, 24/7 maintenance support means you spend your work time driving and your home time at home!

About Roehl's Pay Plans

Roehl offers two main pay plans. Both plans are performance-based. The Performance Bonus Pay Plan is for drivers who want a consistent pay rate with the potential for quarterly bonuses. Drivers earn a cents-per-mile with tenure-based raises and they are also eligible for performance-based bonuses using a scoring system called Your Choice Performance Points. In the Performance Bonus Plan, drivers do not have a risk of getting a lower cpm. The Premium Mileage Pay Plan allows experienced drivers the opportunity to earn a quarterly raise based on their performance and productivity. Using the same Your Choice Performance Points system, drivers earn points for miles driven plus consistent on-time deliveries, fuel economy, no cargo claims, safe operations, etc. Those points are totaled each quarter, and if a driver performs at a higher level than the performance level they were at, they move up and get a pay increase. Drivers can increase their pay each quarter up to Roehl's top pay rate. To learn more about Roehl's pay plans, read this post.

About Roehl Transport and our Truck Driving Jobs

Roehl Transport provides professional truck driving jobs for those who are looking for a long-lasting career with a forward-thinking, driver-oriented company that is built on values. Our truck driver jobs include all levels of experience, as well as flatbed/specialized, van, refrigerated, and curtainside cargo.

Roehl Transport is one of the best trucking companies to drive for. Roehl truck drivers are leaders – they are professionals in their truck driving jobs and lead the industry in safety, productivity, earnings and customer service. One of the reasons so many drivers choose Roehl is the trucking company’s nearly 60 years of transportation success. Roehl was not built to serve shareholders or banks. Everett Roehl started Roehl as a driver. We’re built to serve our customers and we do that by taking care of our drivers. Rick Roehl, our CEO, is also a professional truck driver with his Class A CDL. We've been nominated multiple times as a Best Fleet To Drive For!

No matter your level of experience – from seasoned driver to just starting out the industry, Roehl’s the place for mission-driven professional drivers.
