- Age
- Drivers Must Be 18 Years of Age in Order to Drive A Commercial Truck in The State of Michigan, While Drivers Who Are Interested in Driving Out of State Need to Be 21 Years of Age.
- To Obtain Your Commercial Learners Permit, Which Leads to Your Commercial Driver’s License, You Must Hold a Valid State of Michigan Class D Driver’s License. In Addition to Having a Valid Class D Driver’s License, You Should Understand What May Disqualify You from Obtaining a CDL in Michigan:
- Multiple Driver’s Licenses (Licenses from More than One State)
- Suspension, Revocation, Denial, Or Cancellation of Your License, Previous 36 Months.
- Conviction of Any Six-point Violation in the 24 Months Immediately Preceding Application. Six-point Violations Include:
- Manslaughter, Negligent Homicide, Or Other Felony Involving Use of a Motor Vehicle.
- Operating Under the Influence of Liquor or Drugs.
- Failing to Stop and Give Identification at The Scene of a Crash.
- Reckless Driving.
- Unlawful Bodily Alcohol Content Of 0.08 Or More.
- Refusal to Take A Chemical Test.
- Fleeing or Eluding A Police Officer.
- Conviction of an OUI/DUI in the Previous 2 Years

However, that doesn't have to be the case.
Roehl Pays You $616 a Week While You Study for Your CDL
Don't fork over thousands in tuition and fees to attend CDL school, let Roehl pay you while you earn your CDL. If you're accepted into our Get Your CDL program, you'll be hired on the first day, and you'll be paid while you gain the skills to test for your commercial driver's license.You'll attend one of our four training centers and gain hands-on experience with instructors who are certified, commercial truck drivers. You'll learn on the same trucks we operate every day.
Before long, you'll be driving on your own, well on your way to a career that can pay you $70,000+. You'll be working in a field where opportunity is abundant.
Once you complete your training, we expect you to drive with us for 120,000 miles or about 15 months. You'll sign an agreement to do so. Roehl Transport is a trucking company run by truckers.
