TeamRoehl Honored with 10th EPA SmartWay Excellence Award



 

Congratulations on our 10th SmartWay Excellence Award, TeamRoehl! We were one of only 62 truck and multimodal carriers to receive the SmartWay Excellence Award from the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), and the distinction sets us apart as one of the best environmental performers of SmartWay’s nearly 4,000 Partners – we’re in the top 2%!

Roehl was a founding EPA SmartWay Partner in 2004, and since then SmartWay Partners have avoided emitting more than 143 million metric tons of CO2, 2.7 million tons NOX, and 112,000 tons PM, while saving $44.8 billion in fuel costs and 335 million barrels of oil -- equivalent to eliminating annual energy use in over 21 million homes.

Sarah Dunham, Director of EPA’s Office of Transportation and Air Quality, shared, “We commend the innovation, drive, and collaborative spirit of our partners whose efforts are helping to meet the challenge of climate change and to create a healthier environment for us all.”

Employee Benefits Spotlight

2022 Open Enrollent is Almost Here!

Open Enrollment for our 2022 benefits begins November 8 and runs through November 26.  This is an active enrollment, meaning you must complete the enrollment process in order to have coverage for 2022.  Benefits from 2021 will not carry over. 
If you have not done so already, check out the “2022 Benefits Open Enrollment Video,” which can be found in Roehl Youniversity.  To get there on your My Roehl app, click Driver Toolkit and then Roehl Youniversity or visit TeamRoehl.com and click on Training.  Please watch this video prior to Open Enrollment to learn more about the enrollment process, as well as an enhancement to our basic life insurance plan for 2022. 
Keep in mind that if you are enrolling a spouse or child in benefits, you will have to provide documentation of their benefit eligibility, regardless of whether they have been enrolled in the past.  This means birth certificates for children, a marriage license for your spouse, and a Spousal Coverage Statement for any spouse enrolled in medical coverage.  Please submit all documents before December 15, 2021.
You don’t have to wait until Open Enrollment to submit these documents!  To submit:
  1. Use the MyRoehl App
    1. “Scan Paperwork & Photos” > “Dependent Verification”
  2. Visit our secure benefit enrollment site.  Visit www.roehlbenefits.com and click “Visit our 2022 Open Enrollment Information Page!”  Once there, click “Upload Dependent Verification Documents.”
    1. Username:  Employee Code 
    2. Password:  The first time you log-in your password will be the last four digits of your Social Security Number
  3. Email the documents to benefits@roehl.net
 
This process helps us ensure that our benefits cover only those that qualify as dependents based on plan guidelines.  This is one thing we can do to keep our plan premiums affordable for all.  More information on this process can be found on the 2022 Open Enrollment page at www.roehlbenefits.com
There are three ways to enroll:
 
  • Online: Visit the 2022 Open Enrollment Page at www.roehlbenefits.com and click the Enroll Now link.
    • Username: Your employee code
    • Password: Last four digits of your social security number
  • Over the phone: Call 844-817-8391 Monday – Friday from 8AM – 6PM CST. 
    • If your last name starts with the letters A through M, please call Monday, November 8 – Wednesday, November 17.
    • If your last name starts with the letter N through Z, please call Wednesday, November 17 – Friday, November 26. 
  • Schedule an appointment to enroll over the phone with a Benefits Counselor. Visit www.roehlbenefits.com and click “Schedule an Enrollment Appointment.”

National Diabetes Month


 
 34.2 million people have diabetes with 10.5% of that number being the US population. Type 2 diabetes is preventable and with a couple simple steps you can prevent yourself from becoming diabetic. People typically find out that they are prediabetic before they have type 2 diabetes. Prediabetes is the warning sign to start making some lifestyle changes. Once you have diabetes you will have to manage that disease for the rest of your life. If you are prediabetic you can work your way back to normal and no longer be considered prediabetic. All it takes is these simple lifestyle changes: manage your stress, know your numbers, eat well, exercise frequently, and quite smoking.
