Roehl Transport has once again been designated a Military Friendly Employer® by Victory Media, publisher of G.I. Jobs and Military Spouse magazines. Roehl has been honored with this designation every year since 2014 – four consecutive years.
Roehl completed a lengthy survey that was developed by Victory Media with the assistance of an independent research firm and an advisory council of educators and employers. The results were independently evaluated for completeness and accuracy by Ernst & Young.
Greg Koepel, Roehl Transport Vice President and a US Army veteran noted that company founder Everett Roehl is a veteran as well. “Everett was truck driver in the Army. He started the company with a single truck in 1962, shortly after his military service ended,” Koepel said.
Now, with over 2,500 employees and growing, Roehl Transport has become one of the largest, most successful trucking companies, hiring drivers in the US and providing transportation services to customers across North America.
“Companies that have earned the 2017 Military Friendly® Employer designation have exceptionally strong hiring programs and meaningful jobs for transitioning service members, veterans and spouses,” said Daniel Nichols, a Navy Reserve veteran and Chief Product Officer at Victory Media. “Our Military Friendly® Employers have moved beyond answering ‘why hire military?’ They are truly aligning their jobs and recruiting efforts with Military Friendly® Schools to translate military competencies into civilian careers.”
“Receiving the Military Friendly Employer designation for a fourth time means reinforces what so many Roehl teammates already know – that Roehl Transport is a great place for to work,” said Koepel. “Our Honor Program and Apprenticeship Program appeal to military veterans and active Reservists,” he added.
Members of the Roehl Honor Program™ receive recognition for their service, and Roehl’s two-year Apprenticeship Program (approved by both the Department of Labor and the Department of Veterans Affairs) provides advanced training, earning those that complete the program certification as a Heavy Duty Truck Driver and allowing those in the program the opportunity to take advantage of their GI Bill monies.
For those who are transitioning from active duty and need training, Roehl’s developed the Get Your CDL Program – a truck driver job with paid CDL training. The fact that the job that pays the employee while they get their CDL is a unique difference when compared with company sponsored truck driver training.
Roehl Transport will be showcased in upcoming issues of G.I. Jobs and Military Spouse magazines, as well as on MilitaryFriendly.com. Roehl hires truck drivers, mechanics and many other positions from across the county through its employment website www.Roehl.Jobs.
