Marshfield, WI – For the second year in a row, Roehl Transport has been honored with a SmartWay® Excellence Award by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). The EPA honored Roehl for superior supply efficiency. “We’re very pleased to be recognized for our efforts – from equipment investments to infrastructure to the ways in which our truck driving teammates safely and efficiently operate their trucks,” noted Greg Koepel, Roehl Transport Vice President. Koepel added that Roehl was a founding member of the program, which is now in its eleventh year. The EPA’s SmartWay Transport Partnership empowers businesses to move goods in the cleanest, most energy-efficient way possible, while protecting public health and reducing the impacts of climate change. "EPA recognizes its top SmartWay carrier partners as they lead the way for their peers in this crucial sector of our economy,” said EPA’s Office Director of Transportation & Air Quality Christopher Grundler. “We all depend on an efficient and sustainable freight sector, and these award-winning SmartWay carriers have demonstrated that they can get the job done while saving fuel and reducing greenhouse gases and other harmful pollutants.” Roehl was only one of 39 carriers (out of nearly 3,000 eligible partners) to receive the SmartAward.
